Workshops

Margins offers a variety of workshop offerings for employees, leaders and executives at any stage of their career and/or DEI  journey. We strive to create a safe and brave space that will allow employees to learn, unlearn, ask questions and process any  discomfort. Sessions last between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Our workshops are highly interactive and can be customized for smaller or larger audiences. The sessions will be co-facilitated by 2 members of the Margins team. Many of our sessions are held remotely (via Zoom). Our team is available for in-person facilitation for an additional fee.

Beginner DEIB Workshop Series

This workshop series is a great starting point for anyone who is beginning their DEIB learning journey. 

  • Unconscious Bias: In this session, we will examine and define Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in a workplace setting, learn about what unconscious bias is and how it shows up, and practice mitigation strategies for our lives and our workplace. Prior to the session employees will take a short Implicit Association Test which will set the stage for a discussion on how to identify and respond to bias in a workplace setting.

  • Allyship Skills: A discussion on power and privilege, how to identify it and use our influence to serve as allies to teammates and individuals who identify as members of a marginalized group.

Emerging People Manager Series

Transitioning into a managerial role can be both exciting and challenging. These workshops are designed to provide new managers with a solid foundation in the art and science of effective people management. Whether a person has been recently promoted or is on the cusp of their first managerial role, this program will equip participants with the essential skills, strategies, and insights needed to lead and inspire their teams.

Advanced DEIB Workshop Series

Participants of this series will discuss how systems of oppression show up in our society, and brainstorm solutions for combating and dismantling these systems in the workplace and in the world. 

  • Awareness: An introductory conversation about the language used to describe identity, power and privilege, and systems of inequity. We will discuss why this matters, how these systems show up at work. We will discuss best practices to create and maintain an equitable workplace culture.

  • Accountability: In this session we will bring together all of the concepts we have learned and discussed to help each other continue to evolve our practices, build community, call each other in, and hold each other accountable in our places of work.

Restorative Workplace Series

In this series we examine how to address and mediate conflict in the workplace using a restorative approach.This 2-workshop series is specifically designed for People/HR leaders, HRBPs, and People Managers.

Building Company Culture
